Yes!  You may use your Columbus Public Library card to check out books. You can bring your card and check out a book in person, or you can go on our website and place a hold, which is a way to submit a request online to have the library save a book for you to check out. To check out a book, you cannot have any outstanding fines from another library. You are allowed to check out two books at a time.

Here is more information on holds:

Depending on where the book is from, the book will make its way to you in one of two ways. If you place a hold on a book from Fant Library, a staff member will retrieve the book for you and bring it to the Checkout/Returns Desk. The book will be held for you there until you are able to come to the library and check it out. If you place a hold on a book from another library in our partnership, the book will be sent to us to be held for you at the Checkout/Returns desk. Please note that there will be a longer wait on books requested from other libraries. We will send you an email notifying you when your book is ready to be picked up.
