Yes, you can get a book from another library by placing a Hold or Interlibrary Loan.

HOLDS

If you find an item in the Classic Catalog that is not in Fant Library, but another library in the Mississippi Library Partnership consortium, you can click on the "Place Hold" button, and it will be delivered to you, free of charge. Placing a hold on an item at Fant Library means that the item will be pulled from the shelf and assigned to you as the person who will check-out the item. You will be notified by email when your item is ready to be picked-up.

If you want to cancel this hold, log in to your library account, click on the Holds tab, select the item you want to cancel, and click "cancel hold(s)."

Interlibrary Loans (ILL)

If you find an item that Fant Library or the libraries in Mississippi Library Consortium do no have, you can order that item through Interlibrary Loan.  To order a book through ILL you will have to create an account first.  You only have to create the account the first time you place an ILL.  After that, you can use this same account to order other ILL in books or articles in the future.  You will need your student ID number (950) and a password of your choice. Once you have created the account, you can either request ILLs directly through the databases you find them in, or you can request them after you've logged in by selecting "Advanced Search" on the top right corner.

Search for the item by author, title, subject, etc. and click the search button on the bottom left.

Once you have located the desired item, click on the title.

The next screen will display more information about the item.  On the far left, select "Request Item through Interlibrary Loan" to start the ILL request.

The next screen will show a completed form.  Review the form to make sure your contact information is correct, and click "submit request" at the bottom of the form.  Once the request is submitted, you can check on the status of your request by logging into your ILL account.  You will receive a message via email when the item has arrived.
