What does it mean to put a book on hold?

When you put a book on hold, it means that the book will be reserved for you so that you are next in line to check it out. Depending on where the book is from, the book will make its way to you in one of two ways. If you place a hold on a book from Fant Library, a staff member will retrieve the book for you and bring it to the Checkout/Returns Desk. The book will be held for you there until you are able to come to the library and check it out. If you place a hold on a book from another library in our partnership, the book will be sent to us to be held for you at the Checkout/Returns desk. Please note that there will be a longer wait on books requested from other libraries. We will send you an email notifying you when your book is ready to be picked up.
