Fant Memorial Library provides:
- Ramp, a sloping surface connecting levels of an internal and exterior location.
- Door Release Button, a push button to automatically open doors.
- Elevator, a moving platform that transports people to different levels of a building.
- Wheelchair Accessible Room, an area that accommodates wheelchair users by offering features like widen pathways, grab bars, and under area clearance.
- High Contrast and Large Print Sign, a visual aid that is made clear and readable by using large font and bold colors.
Ramps are conveniently located at different entry points of Fant. There are also ramps available on the first and second floor the library to help users navigate different levels within the building. Like ramps, door release buttons are found at different entry points to help people enter and leave the building with ease. An elevator is available to transport visitors, like people with limited mobility, to either the first or second floor. The rooms are also wheelchair accessible by prioritizing wide pathways, grab bars, under area clearance, and smooth flooring, and more!
In addition to providing an accessible physical space, Fant also prioritizes helpful information materials. Several informative signs, like directional signs, can be found throughout the library. They are high contrast and large print to support clear visibility for people with limited mobility and struggle to read higher placed signs.
